V8 Swap? Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum
My FJ Cruiser is already built, but is getting high in miles, plus I want to have more power. I figure instead of buying new, I could do a LS swap and have the best of both worlds. From what I understand I need to swap it for a 07 up, to keep within emissions compliance. I am looking to keep it mid range at about 450/450 hp torque.

I can't imagine that there's much reason for swapping engines into an FJ CRUISER which already has a 2007/8 fuel injected, 239 HP V6! It's common to swap engines in FJ40's. The F and 2F engines are straight 6's. Most people will swap it for a Chevy 350 in order to get V8 power and fuel injected efficiency. They call the result a "Chevota"!

Understand. Well, for what I have read, the swap with a 3L diésel has many advantages. Maybe you can find someone that did the swap and try the diesel FJ.. I would love to try it.
